history
Grandfather Francis Usseglio came from Italy in 1931 where he settled in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. He produced his first wine in 1949. Now third-generation Stéphane Usseglio, has taken over the domaine in the last few years and he is pushing to reach the potential of the family’s holdings, some of he best of Châteauneuf-du-pape. The estate is located in a very stony part of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape area, on the Lieux-Dits La Crau, Les Relangres and Colombis. 50 acres - 45 years old vines Rolled pebbles (limestone).
Vineyard
terroir : clay-limestone soils at the place "Palestor " 4.5 acres / 500 cases
Winemaking
Manual grape harvest with selective sorting. Direct pressing. Fermentation at low temperature in burgundy barrels. No malolactic fermentation in order to maintain a good level of acidity.
Tasting notes
Mineral nose with white fruit notes. A full, rounded mouth with finesse and a persistent aromatic finish. A perfect balance between the freshness of Grenache blanc and acidity of Roussanne.
Food pairing
Appreciated on its own or with shellfish, seafood, or white meat with a creamy sauce.

8 years.
