The Darnaud family has now 16 hectares of vines : 15 hectares of Crozes Hermitage in the south of appellation and 1.7 hectare of St Joseph . The vines lay down on 6 differing terroirs . Each Parcel is vinified and aged separetly.
Vineyard
The soil are Glacial alluvium with smoothed pebbles .
The vines are ploughed and yiest limited .
This cuvée is the tribute to the 3 main terroirs of the estate :
La Batte - Les Saviaux - Les Pautus.
Vines : 60 to 25 years.
Winemaking
Manual harvesting .All parcels are separately matured and aged . Vinfication in oak barrels or concrete vats for 15 days. This cuvee is made with 20 % of whole crop/n ageing in half-muids or oak barrels for about 15 months .
Tasting notes
Color : Red ruby with slight pink tints
Nose : Frank, honest and with great distinction. Notes of blackberries, olives and black pepper
Mouth : Long on the palate and clawy. The taste reveals very exquisite tannins which need several years to fade away with ageing. The whole is of a very nice balance
Food pairing
This wine goes well with tasty and textured cookings such as Baked ham on the bone, juice with candied garlic ; thick piece of sirloin, reduction of Syrah, fine purée of celery; Saint Marcelin cheese

and blackberry fruit flavors, laced with
hints of savory, tar and iron underneath.
Approachable but there's no rush either.
