history
Château de Millet is located in Eauze, in the Gers, in Gascony and in the heart of Armagnac.
Initially devoted to mixed farming and Armagnac production, the estate now reserves 80 hectares of vines for the production of Côtes de Gascogne "Domaine de Millet" wines.
Francis and Lydie Dèche, owners, follow in the footsteps of the previous five generations by committing themselves to a policy of quality: traditional grape varieties, rational cultivation of the vineyard and constant evolution in the
methods and means of vinification.
With their daughter Laurence, who joined them in 1999, they market a tasty and varied range wines that are just waiting to be discovered.
Vineyard
At Millet, the land and the relief tell a story of history of man . The ruins of pre-Roman oppidum, the currencies and the amphoras discovered near to the vineyard are witnesses of the past. Before building the town of Elusa (1st century), known today as Eauze, the elusate people learnt how to cultivate vines and appreciate wines from Romans.
Winemaking
The 2 grape varieties are vinified separatly and blended together and kept in a tank. for 6 months.
Tasting notes
This vine is very original in style with multiple nuances that merge to give a surprising floral and spicy flavour. White mid dry wine, light in colour with golden yellow highlights. Intense and seductive bouquet with a concentration in floral notes, exotic fruits and soft spice. Fresh gourmand taste. This wine expresses itself powerfully, revealing a contrasting complexity that comes from the union of the perfectly balanced Chardonnay and Sauvignon. A full flavoured finish.
Food pairing
Serve at 10-11°C on its own as an aperitif or with a meal: foie gras or exotic and spicy dishes.
