Confidence Red
Domaine Eric & Joel Durand - Cornas
Red,Cornas
100% Syrah
history
The vineyard is owned by two brothers: Eric and Joël. Their vineyards cover 22 ha (8,5 ha of Saint Joseph , 9.5 ha of Cornas, 2 ha de St peray and 2 ha of Vin de Pays). They took over the family estate and started bottling our wine in 1991.They work hard to ensure their harvests will be fully expressive of the terroir. They love wines that have personality but are still fine and elegant.
Vineyard
Selection of harvests in two areas of Cornas where the soil is shallow. Granite soils. Vines : 25 to 30 years old - Yield : 35hl/ha
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested when their balance is at its best. Fermentation starts after destemming and cold maceration for 4 days at 8°C. The cap is punched every day by hand. Vinification lasts 28 days. CONFIDENCE is matured in two types of barrel: 20% new and the rest used 1 to 5 times.
Tasting notes
Highly complex nose of stone fruits and spices. The mouth is very powerful. The tannins are robust but elegant. This is a wine for cellaring but it can be enjoyed young because of its great delicacy.

2022
The deep purple-hued 2022 Cornas Confidence is similarly concentrated but offers more elegance and finesse in its texture and structure. Gorgeous cassis, graphite, roasted herbs, pepper, and floral aromatics all shine, and it's full-bodied, has a great mid-palate, integrated acidity, and a great finish.
