history
Located in the heart of the village of Chorey-lès-Beaune in Côte-d'Or, the Domaine Arnoux Père et Fils carries on from generation to generation the art of the vine and the wine. A long family history, René, the grandfather, then two of his five children, Michel and Rémi, expanded the estate and developed bottling. Pascal, the grandson, joined them in 1990. Since 2008, he and his wife Caroline have been at the head of the farm. Pascal Arnoux combines traditional know-how and new technologies to protect the vineyard and offer high quality wines.Today, the Domaine strectches over 20 ha spread over the communes of Chorey-lès-Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Aloxe-Corton, Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and Echevronne. Climates enjoying rich soils and favorable to the production of excellent wines of varied appellations: regional, villages, Premiers Crus and Grand Cru. All wines are harvested, matured and bottled on the estate.
Vineyard
The plot is characterized by limestone soil mixed with clay. The vineyard is situated at the bottom of the "Montagne de Beaune". Exposed south/south-east, it covers half a hectare on low slopes.
Winemaking
100% harvested by hand - Vatting time: about twenty days then ageing in oak barrels during 12 months - 3 to 4 months in stainless steel vast then bottling.
Tasting notes
Striking and vivid colour; it has ripe red fruit aromas as black cherry. The mouth is dense and fleshy, with silky tannins and an exceptionnal texture, gives it a top-class finish.
Food pairing
Serve between 15 and 16°C. Better when it is previously decanted in his younger days. This wine reveals great aromatic power and solid texture. It will be inevitably a good partner with many meats, such as feathered game, roasted or braised, and classic cheeses.
Aging potential
Generous and powerful in his younger age, its will get smooth tannins after few years ageing. Until 10 years.
