history
Located in the heart of the village of Chorey-lès-Beaune in Côte-d'Or, the Domaine Arnoux Père et Fils carries on from generation to generation the art of the vine and the wine. A long family history, René, the grandfather, then two of his five children, Michel and Rémi, expanded the estate and developed bottling. Pascal, the grandson, joined them in 1990. Since 2008, he and his wife Caroline have been at the head of the farm. Pascal Arnoux combines traditional know-how and new technologies to protect the vineyard and offer high quality wines.Today, the Domaine strectches over 20 ha spread over the communes of Chorey-lès-Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Aloxe-Corton, Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and Echevronne. Climates enjoying rich soils and favorable to the production of excellent wines of varied appellations: regional, villages, Premiers Crus and Grand Cru. All wines are harvested, matured and bottled on the estate.
Vineyard
The plot is situated on a sloping hillside, exposed south-east and neighbouring the Premier Cru "L'Ile aux Vergelesses". The vine is planted on a limestone soil with sand marls.
Winemaking
100% harvested by hand - Vatting time: about twenty days then ageing in oak barrels during 12 months - 3 to 4 months in stainless steel vats then bottling.
Tasting notes
Deep cherry colour; it offers a pleasant bouquet of red and black fruits. Silky and suave mouth feel, full of flesh and elegance. Soft tannins flow through the palate right to the end.
Food pairing
This wine will be a perfect pairing with any dish of red or game meats, most of the cheeses and chocolate desserts. To be served between 15 and 16°C in large balloon-shaped glasses with thin sides.
Aging potential
Keep in the cellar a few years to get a delicate and fine wine.
