Le Bois doré white
Cave Robert & Marcel - Saumur
Chenin 100%
In 1957, around forty winegrowers grouped together to confront the economic difficulties of the era, pooling far more than mere financial concerns. At the time, Robert, Marcel, Yvon, Geneviève and the others, hailing from the same terroir, hewn from the same rock and sharing the same time-honoured values, set up their cooperative at the top of the hill in Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg. “They chose to share their experience, their expertise and their dreams„
The Saumur vineyards cover over 800 hectares on the south bank of the Loire River. The key feature of this area is its clay limestone soil: this soft, white stone, known as tufa, used to build the Loire Valley Castles, promotes good root development in the vines and ensures a moderate water supply.
Destemming and light skin contact, followed by pneumatic pressing. Fermented in temperature-controlled vats and bottled in the tufa cellars, where the wine continues ageing, protected from light and temperature variations.

Serve chilled (46-50°F). An accompaniment to fish and seafood, meat dishes, cheeses (goat's cheeses) and fruit tarts (lemon, apricot, etc.).
