The Domaine Courtois is a Jaume family-owned estate going back 5 generations. Pascal and Richard Jaume have now taken over from their father and are pursuing the tradition of quality that their father Claude started. The vineyards are located in an outstanding terroir of the Rhone Valley, the Vinsobres that combines the advantages of both the southern and the northern Rhone Valley.
Vineyard
Terroir “Les Collines”: sandy-loamy-clay soil, exposure South-East, land on hillsides at 420 m, gradual maturation of the grapes, very fine tannins and aromas fresh fruit.
Winemaking
Manual and mechanical harvesting with rigorous sorting. Total destemming with partial crushing. 15 days vatting. Partial aging in tuns to preserve the aromas of fresh fruit and melted tannins.
Tasting notes
Red fruits on the nose, a nice fullness on fresh fruits such as black-currant and gooseberry. A mouth pleasant and a long finish supported by melted tannins.

Red meat, meat casseroles, grilled meat, game, cheeses.
Aging potential
3-5 years.

A firm core of mineral courses through this well-built red, with ripe red berry and cassis punctuated by char, meat, black pepper, dried herbs and warm vanilla. Heady and generous yet balanced. Drink now through 2030.
