Syrah
Domaine Eric & Joel Durand - IGP Collines Rhodaniennes
Red,IGP Collines Rhodaniennes
100% Syrah
history
The vineyard is owned by two brothers: Eric and Joël. Their vineyards cover 22 ha (8,5 ha of Saint Joseph, 9.5 ha of Cornas, 2 ha de St Peray, and 2 ha of Vin de Pays). They took over the family estate and started bottling our wine in 1991. They work hard to ensure their harvests will be fully expressive of the terroir. They love wines that have personality but are still delicate and elegant.
Vineyard
The grapes come from vines spread over the hillsides opposite Cornas and Saint-Joseph, in the north of the Northern Valley.
Winemaking
The harvest is manual. During vinification, extraction is done by punching down every day for about 20 days. No ageing for this cuvée which is greedy, easy and fruity!
Tasting notes
A bouquet of blue fruits, violets and cherries for a lively mouth, ample but chiseled with a mineral, salivating even delicate frame that slices the explosive delicacy of fresh fruit. Superb introduction, it promises! Perfect to drink in your youth as an aperitif, on a charcuterie and cheese board or with grilled meats.
Food pairing
Perfect match with red meats, delicatessen.
