history
Grandfather Francis Usseglio came from Italy in 1931 where he settled in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. He produced his first wine in 1949. In 1963, Raymond, the son and Danielle, his wife took over and created the Domaine Usseglio Raymond. It is essential for Stéphane Usseglio Estate to preserve and respect as much as possible the life and balance of the terroirs and their vines.
Vineyard
A portion of the grapes comes from the sorting carried out during the harvest on certified organic and biodynamic grapes from various plots in classified appellations. These are blended with grapes from plots located outside the appellations on the right side of the Rhône.
Winemaking
Respecting the living, the soil, and the ecosystem, and adhering to the principles of Organic and Biodynamic Agriculture. There is no use of chemicals (pesticides, insecticides, etc.). The process involves direct cold pressing, followed by fermentation in stainless steel vats with precise temperature control to preserve the fruit and achieve a beautifully delicate pink color.
Tasting notes
Like Les Amandiers in white and red, Les Amandiers rosé is a pleasurable, accessible, and understandable wine. It is a rosé with fruity notes, offering freshness, yet maintaining beautiful delicacy and a nice roundness.
Food pairing
This makes it a perfect companion for both a sunny aperitif and a summer meal.
