Cave de Tain is a family-driven cooperative with a legacy of winegrowing that spans four generations. Located at the base of the Hermitage hill, they cultivate 22 hectares alongside additional contributions from member winegrowers, focusing exclusively on wines from their own grapes. In 2014, they invested in advanced technology to enhance wine quality across all appellations, paving the way for innovations such as organic and sulfite-free wines. Vineyard
Situated in the northern part and on the right bank of the Rhône river. Soils: Granite bedrock overlaid with loam, loess and limestone debris. Climate: Continental with a Mediterranean influence. A slightly fresher microclimate compared to the rest of the region, well-suited to white grapes.
Winemaking
Hand-picked grapes on 40 years old vines. Storage in cold temperature 24 hours before pressing, to protect gustative qualities. Protection against oxidation and selection of the best juice. Cold settling for 24 hours ; alcoholic fermentation in vats at 18° (40%) and in barrels (60%). Malolactic fermentation for 75%. Maturing: 60% in 400L barrels and 40% in vats, on fine lees with stirring for 9 months.
Tasting notes
Color: bright jasmine yellow with green hints Aromas: acacia, lime blossom and chalky notes. Very fresh aromas. The palate: rich and ample. Minerality and lemon zest aromas.
Food pairing
Its minerality makes it perfect as an aperitif wine or wellsuited to fish, white meat and local cheese (Picodon, Saint Marcellin).
