history
Located in the heart of the village of Chorey-lès-Beaune in Côte-d'Or, the Domaine Arnoux Père et Fils carries on from generation to generation the art of the vine and the wine. A long family history, René, the grandfather, then two of his five children, Michel and Rémi, expanded the estate and developed bottling. Pascal, the grandson, joined them in 1990. Since 2008, he and his wife Caroline have been at the head of the farm. Pascal Arnoux combines traditional know-how and new technologies to protect the vineyard and offer high quality wines.Today, the Domaine strectches over 20 ha spread over the communes of Chorey-lès-Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Aloxe-Corton, Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and Echevronne. Climates enjoying rich soils and favorable to the production of excellent wines of varied appellations: regional, villages, Premiers Crus and Grand Cru. All wines are harvested, matured and bottled on the estate.
Tasting notes
intense and ruby colour, this wine offers a beautiful sensation of finesse and delicacy. The freshness of red fruits (strawberry, raspberry) on the palate is enhanced by notes of green tea and dried flowers. A wine full of elegance and well-melted tannins. Laying down : 2-8 years
Food pairing
fleshy and solid, this is a very seductive wine. With its virile but superbly melted tannins its natural preference is for relatively forceful meats like veal, roasted, braised or in sauce, leg of lamb, feathered game, or grilled pork. Roast beef would also yield to its charms. From the cheese board: Mont d’Or, Vacherin, Tomme de Savoie, Reblochon, Cîteaux.
Vineyard
Pernand-Vergelesses is tucked into the junction of two valleys among the hills of the Côte de Beaune. The nearby Hill of Corton stands guard over it and two other villages, Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix-Serrigny, harboring prestigious Grands Crus: Corton in red and Corton-Charlemangne in white. Pernand is a charming village, with its sloping site and steep streets. Soils: Pebbly limestone soils, with dark marl Altitude : 250 meters Exposition : south-east
