history
More than just another structure on the French wine scene, Rhonéa is a sort of "sacred union" between two well-known and quality-oriented cooperatives, the Vignerons de Caractère in Vacqueyras and Vignerons de Balma Venitia in Beaumes de Venise.   Rhonéa initially achieved this unification with crus from the southern Côtes du Rhône, merging generations of history and strong identities into a single entity. Putting a lie to outmoded clichés and prejudices concerning cooperative cellars, Rhonéa is the successful merging of two cellars that decided to build their future together in a spirit of innovation.    Rhonéa brings together 236 estates situated around the Dentelles de Montmirail – a mythical location where the crus of Gigondas, Vacqueyras, and Beaumes de Venise are found.
Vineyard
Only a few parcels chosen, over the years, by the winegrowers for their exceptional quality can claim the elaboration of this great wine. The tasting of the bays throughout the maturation of the grapes allows us to finalise our choice of the best vines. A long job of parcel selection allowed us to choose the most beautiful vines of each grape variety on the best terroirs. Vines : 20 - 30 years old - 111, 20 acres.
Winemaking
We spent a long time discovering the best vineyard plots for each grape variety in order to make Eternité. Picking starts only when the grapes are tasted and found to be suffciently ripe and concentrated. The grapes are entirely hand picked, destemmed, crushed, and fermented in stainless steel vats. The temperature is carefully monitored to ensure excellent aromatic expression. Eternité stays on the skins for a long time to promote the gentle extraction of voluptuous tannins./nIt ages for a year, partly in vat and partly in new oak barrels, to enable the different grape varieties to marry and produce the best possible results. maceration allows us to gently extract the tannins for more voluptuousness at the tasting.
Tasting notes
A wonderfully aromatic bouquet with overtones of black fruit, blueberries, and spice, accompanied by hints of vanilla. Lovely balance on the palate with a silky texture and velvety tannin. Round and full-bodied. Long, lingering aftertaste with fruit and liquorice nuances, leading to a richly satisfying sensation of… eternity.
Food pairing
A great wine that is well-suited to veal sweetbreads fried in olive oil, roast tomato with morel mushrooms, coq au vin, and risotto with truffles. Enjo
