history
The Breban company is one of the last family owned company producing artisanal sparkling wines in the South of France. The House of Breban Wines ("Vins Breban") has been producing and supplying a wide range of wines of varying styles and aromas to restaurants and retail distributors since 1952. The grand-father, Raymond, started elaborating sparkling wine in his garage in 1942. He has then decided to add a full range of wines from Provence. Since that time, two generation have been managing the company with the same passion and philosophy for quality.Today, they are famous in France and all over the world for the quality of the wines of Provence and for their premium hand crafted sparkling wines.
Vineyard
The Vineyard Domaine la Colombe is based in the village of Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, located between 900 and 1300 feet elevation. his terroir is based on Clay-Limestone combination on the solpes and a more iran-sand soil in the valley. On the extension of the St Victoire mountain the vineyard has a great south east exposure. Vines : 30 ha
Winemaking
The vinification of rosés is a mix of both traditional and modern techniques: stripping, pressing and cool-steeping of the grapes, followed by bleeding the must that is fermented under controlled temperatures of 18°-20° in order to extract the maximum aroma. /nNo ageing.
Tasting notes
Light pink with an expressive nose. The tasting offers a fresh and clean fruit with a lot of finesse.
Food pairing
Domaine la Colombe rosé is a great pairing for seafood, fresh fishes and grilled meat. It stands very well by itself as an aperitif.
