Grandfather Francis Usseglio came from Italy in 1931 where he settled in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. He produced his first wine in 1949. Now third-generation Stéphane Usseglio, has taken over the domaine in the last few years and he is pushing to reach the potential of the family’s holdings, some of he best of Châteauneuf-du-pape. The estate is located in a very stony part of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape area, on the Lieux-Dits La Crau, Les Relangres and Colombis. 50 acres - 45 years old vines Rolled pebbles (limestone).

Winemaking
Manual harvest with selective sorting. Long fermentation (18 days) with temperature control. Maceration for 25 to 28 days.
Tasting notes
A classic Châteauneuf enhancing the soft and rich character of the Grenache on the specific terroir of Châteauneuf. Deep dark cherry with licore and black pepper notes. A body both smooth and strong.
Food pairing
Red meats grilled or “en sauce “, coq au vin, venison. Ripe cheeses.
Aging potential
This wine can be appreciated between 5 to 10 years.
