The Luc Pirlet estate is located in the Languedoc Roussillon, the largest wineproducing region in France. Luc is fortunate in having his vineyard in the greatest part of this region which combines the advantages of the Mediterranean and Atlantic climates near the Pyrenean mountains.As a result, the wines produced have the fruitiness given by the south-facing Mediterranean hills, and a good level of acidity due to the high altitude of the hills on the Atlantic side.
Vineyard
Corbières region, near the city of Carcassone in South of France. This Burgundian grape is at home here in limestone/clay soils where it ripens fully. Vines : 25 years - Low yield.
Winemaking
Traditional fermentation in stainless steel with a short fermentation; cap is punched down. In stainless steel vats.
Tasting notes
Intense medium ruby colour. Bouquet of blackcurrant, liquorice and cherries. Rich and vinous palate.
Food pairing
It goes well with roasted poultry, grilled tuna steak, Camembert, Brie.
