The Larochette family is winegrowers from father to son for generations. The domain stretches over 10.70 hectares of vines, located in the southern Burgundy on the slopes of Chaintré. The domain has received the approval for a high environnemental value. Fabrice Larochette strives to find the balance between tradition and modernity in his wine-making. According to him, the expression of terroir makes the highest quality wines. As the terroir makes the highest quality wines, he made the search of this terroir expression his daily focus.
Vineyard
In this part of Southern Burgundy, the vines occupy a busy landscape of little hills and valleys that look juste they have been painted by a water-colourist's brush. The hills of the Mâconnais extend over some 40 km from the Côte Chalonnaise to the Rock of Solutré and are bordered on one side by the river Saône and the Grosne on the other. Near the village of Chaintré. Clay and limestone. Separated by a serie of parallel faults, the hills of the Mâconnais are linked along axes which give them either a north/north-westerly or a south/south-easterly exposure.
Winemaking
Pneumatic press. Controlled stainless steel vats.
Tasting notes
Very complex nose combining white fruits and liquorice with a touch floral. Greasy mouth and structured. Very local with lots of personality in the mouth.
Food pairing
Poultry or veal "à la crème" will be a perfect match with it during winter, as does creamy risotto with meat, poultry, or fish. During summer, it will match perfectly with grilled fish, cold antipasto, ratatouille, or mixed salads with onions. It is capable of taking sushi and goat's cheese under its wings.
Aging potential
3 to 4 years.
