Based in Volnay, the Delagrange Family owns 32 acres of vineyard located amongst the best terroirs of the Côtes de Beaune. The business is run by Didier Delagrange, vinegrower and winemaker who produces high quality Burgundy wines (Bourgogne, Hautes Côtes de Beaune, Volnay, Pommard, Meursault) that are vinified and bottled at the Estate.The Domaine’s policy can be summarised in five points: • Careful, rigorous care of the vines as this is the start • Pick perfectly healthy grapes at the right moment. • Understand each vintage to preserve the natural balance of the wine. • Maintain the traditional character of the wine by intervening as little as possible during vinification • Preserve the body, the fruitiness and the aromatic purity of the wine during vinification to extract the

Volnay 1er Cru is an appellation for wines from Volnay in Côte de Beaune. The vines stretch on a South to South-East facing slope with a production area of 15 hectares. The vines were planted in 1939 by Didier's Grandfather. Limestone and pebbles. Vines : 65, 40 ares - Yield : 45 hl/ha
Hand picked harvesting. 50% Destemming - Fermentation for 18 days in open tank with controlled temperature. Occasional punching down./nAgeing 18 months in barrels, 20% new barrels.
Tasting notes
The wine is ruby, with very deep aromas, combining pedigree, nobility, power and finesse. An incomparable bouquet of red fruit and violets.
Food pairing
It is a perfect match for a roast young guinea fowl or a thick veal fillet with morels as well as mild cheeses. Serve at 57 ° - 59 ° F.
