Terroirs d'Ecueil White
Lacourte-Godbillon Family - Champagne
85% Pinot Noir - 15% Chardonnay.
Elaborating this unique wine called “Champagne”, creating some typical cuvées which reflect the terroir and also the family know-how : all this is a real privilege which has been taught over more than 4 generations. The family coteaux are located mainly over Ecueil’s vineyard. Ecueil is situated in the Montagne de Reims, between Reims and Epernay. They raise 2 varieties of grape: Pinot Noir, fame of Ecueil and Chardonnay. As winemakers, they feel truly fortunate to work close to nature and give it all the respect that it deserves.
Working the Vines: - Short “Chablis” pruning for the Chardonnay and “Cordon de Royat”pruning for Pinot Noir vines. - Grapes are hand-picked and selected on the vines.
Regulated stainless steel vats, cold stabilisation treatment, malolactic fermentation done. 30 Months in our cellars

Disgorged in April 2019 with 4.5 grams per liter dosage, the latest release of the NV Brut Premier Cru Terroirs d'Ecueil offers up aromas of crisp yellow orchard fruit, white flowers, blanched almonds, pastry cream and Meyer lemon oil. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with a broad attack, a lively and incisive core of nicely concentrated fruit that's still quite tightly wound and a long, chalky finish. It's a blend of 85% Pinot Noir and the balance Chardonnay, based on the 2015 vintage supplemented by some 43% reserve wines. This will be even better with a year or two on cork to unwind.
