history
Château Haut-Barrail, and its windmill, has been existing since 1362. The oldest parts of the current House were built at the beginning of the 17th Century. Nowadays, it represents the typical architecture of the 18th. 2 symbols are engraved on the front stones: " Vines and Wheat". The Cyril Gillet Domains are situated in center of Medoc area on the Begadan district, spreads over 37 acres. Owners since 1987, the Gillet family has done a lot to restore the estate. The first vintage of Château Haut-Barrail was 1995.
Vineyard
The wines grow on gentle hillsides facing the Gironde, with good natural drainage.Responsable farming . Double Guyot Pruning - De-leafing.Vines : 7.4 acres - 15,000 bottles per a year.
Winemaking
traditionnal vinfication. Ageing in vat.
Tasting notes
beautiful Dark Ruby. Tannish wine. Woody nose with ripe fruits. Fruity and powerful attack with a long lasting aromas.
Food pairing
Médoc wines go extremely well with numerous foods and show their full power when accompanied by white and red meats, game, fish in red wine sauce and firm-bodied cheeses.
