history
Domaine Chante Cigale, established in 1874 by Hyppolite Jourdan, is a historic family-owned estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Initially named "Clos Chante Cigale," it was renamed in 1936 when Châteauneuf-du-Pape became France's first AOC. Today, under the leadership of Alexandre Favier, the estate spans over 40 hectares across 45 parcels within the appellation. This diversity of soils and grape varieties enables the production of unique wines. Favier and his team oversee each step of the winemaking process, ensuring the preservation of the estate's spirit and tradition.

Crafted from vines planted on the Palestor and Cabrières sectors, the 2023 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Extrait, a 50-50 blend of Grenache Blanc and Bourboulenc, reveals aromas of exotic fruits, roses, apricots, spices and ripe orchard fruits. Medium to full-bodied, rich and enveloping, it's deep and fleshy with bright acids, a satiny texture and a mineral-inflected, saline finish. More seamless and balanced than the previous wine, it's matured in equal parts large barrels and concrete tanks
