history
Domaine Chante Cigale, established in 1874 by Hyppolite Jourdan, is a historic family-owned estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Initially named "Clos Chante Cigale," it was renamed in 1936 when Châteauneuf-du-Pape became France's first AOC. Today, under the leadership of Alexandre Favier, the estate spans over 40 hectares across 45 parcels within the appellation. This diversity of soils and grape varieties enables the production of unique wines. Favier and his team oversee each step of the winemaking process, ensuring the preservation of the estate's spirit and tradition.

The vineyard is situated on lieu dit "Calada". Rolled pebbles . Vines : 100 year-old .
Winemaking
Whole grape manual harvest with a soft crushing.Maceration for 3 weeks in a pyramidal vat. Ageing in half-french oak barrel.
Tasting notes
A deep red wine with notes of black fruits and very deep. A nose with a lot of complexity. A powerful, crusty and concentrated palate with dense and silky tannins.
Food pairing
It's a perfect with a roasted pigeon, lamb fillet, breast of duck and sheep cheese. Serve at 61-65 ° f.
Aging potential
15-20 years.

Quite ripe, with a lush and seductive feel to its nearly exotic mix of loganberry, plum and fig fruit that glides through with ease, picking up alder, savory and garrigue details along the way. Ends with a late tarry tug that gives this good spine. Showy and distinctive.
